Oh, how I love the water!  I took this photo on the beach and fell in love with the color palette of the small sail...brown, mustard, orange and yellow.  However, there is a second color palette in the larger sail that shows more cheerful, sunny colors.

I took this photo at a beach bar in Tulum, Mexico.  The base color of the bar, the way the sun was shinning on it, and the shadows of the palm trees reminded me of a beautiful ombre color scheme.

Color is always around us and I love to find unique color palettes from natural settings.  I took this photo of a beach shack in Mexico where kite surfers and paddle boarders hung out.  What a great color combo!  Looks like I need to form a pattern around it!

Today's pattern was inspired by all of the woven textiles and blankets seen throughout Mexico.  There is no lack of color in Mexico!

I just got back from a fabulous trip to Mexico and am overwhelmed by all of the inspiration and color that surrounded me!  One intriguing theme is the history and art of the Mayans.  So, I am putting pen to paper and beginning a new Mayan Treasure collection of patterns.

Here is the first of my Mayan patterns inspired from the hand beaded and woven textiles found throughout the Yucatan.
